the mitzvah of sitting in the sukkah
Ashdot Yaakov Ihud, 1978
This is the fourth year in a row that we, the residents of the house no. 24, friends and children - - - observe the mitzvah of sitting in the sukkah.
How is the mitzvah of sitting in our Sukkah performed?
We eat and drink in it throughout the seven days, and in the course of these days we make the dining room temporary and our sukkah - permanent"
As it says, "In Sukkot you will sit for seven days." How?
Fine utensils and drinking utensils such as Ashishot (glass goblets) and glasses are placed in our sukkah.
The Ushpizin in our Sukkah this year were members of the 50+ club with their grandchildren.
Our children expressed a wish: Why don't we observe the mitzvah of sitting in the sukkah all year long?
