There in the land of the pyramids

A tyrant king ruled

He oppressed, enforced labour

Tyrannized the Children of Israel

 

The people suffered in silence

Did not look towards the light

There their glory and might were broken

They did not look towards freedom

 

Then in the land of the pyramids

There a hero with courage arose

With his valour and wisdom

Freedom and liberty he called to the people
