Yizhar Ben Nahum

Peace for Shlomit

Another year that passed from Sukkot to Sukkot

And Shlomit from the song continues to wait.

She brought a lulav, a hadas and etrog

And the sechach, fresh and green is resting above.

She invited neighbors and had a party inside

Yet only one, the main guest, had not yet arrived

And everyone tries to console: It's not so bad.

That's what happened last year, they had said.

And if this year he did not see it fit -

To come, you don't need him, you ought to admit

But little Shlomit is rigid and firm

She does not give up and constantly yearns

With local, regional and global good will

Peace in Shlomit's sukkah shall be fulfilled
