Two Candles are One

1979

A candle of the beginning of days and a candle of the end of days. The first candle, illuminated with the brightness of the Shabbat of creation. It is a symbol that the work of the creator was culminated and the beginning of human labor had begun. As it states – "that the Lord created to do" – created man to do. To produce his society, to redeem his world. The second candle, draws its light from the Shabbat of redemption as it states: "A song with musical accompaniment for the day of Shabbat" – a song with musical instruments for the future to come, for a day that is totally -  Shabbat.
