R. Abbahu said on behalf of R. Yochanan: When G-d gave the Torah, no bird chirped, no foul flew, no ox bellowed, no ophans flew, no seraphs said holy, the seas remained calm, people did not speak; rather, the world was silent - and a voice was heard: “I am the Lord your G-d.”
