Explaining the Public's Indifference
Another Land
The grave harm to wide levels in Israeli society, alongside the shattering of the foundation stones of the Israeli welfare state, should have caused the masses to take to the streets. However, the majority of the Israeli public have remained indifferent and observe the program as an opposing observer. Only in very limited areas has an uprising grown with the potential to turn into a protest and a struggle.
In particular it is pronounced that there are also groups which should be harmed by the program directly and painfully, and who are not participating in the struggle against it. The question is, of course, why? How can we explain the indifference of the public? Why is it taking so long for the citizens to climb on the Bastille? Why is the Israeli street still not burning?
