Free competition is an urban myth

Ynet, 2005

Free competition is an urban myth. There is no such thing. The economy is always supervised and institutionalized by the State.

The only question is, in favour of whom? “Free competition” is the code name for regulation of the economy in favour of capital, whereas the welfare state is the code name for regulation of the economy in favour of the general public.
