Rabbi Tarfon had an old mother

Rabbi Tarfon had an old mother, they lived in a village

His mother went outside to walk around her courtyard on Sabbath and her shoe tore

Rabbi Tarfon went to her and put both his hands under her feet

And she walked on his hands until she reached her bed

His elderly mother wanted to get into her bed – he bent over her and put her into bed

And when she got out of bed, she would step down on him.
