Welcoming Shabbat - Birthday
Come my beloved to greet the bride
Let us welcome the Shabbat
A Peaceful and Blessed Shabbat
Candle Lighting
With the light that the Holy-One-Blessed-be-He created on the first day a person was able to see from one edge of the world to the other. When G-d looked at the people and saw their acts were corrupt, he took this light and hid it from them. And where was this light hidden? In the hearts of people. And when they open their hearts to one another, the light shall emanate from them once again. When we light the candles, we shall wish for a Shabbat of togetherness, of listening to, and being pleasant to one another. Blessed are you, G-d, our Lord king of the universe, who separates darkness from light.
Hallelujah!
Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
Praise Him with resounding cymbals,
Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
Praise Him with resonant cymbals.
Let every soul
praise G-d
Hallelujah!
Kiddush
"The sixth day. And the heavens and the earth and all their hosts were completed. And G-d finished by the Seventh Day His work which He had done, and He rested on the Seventh Day from all His work which He had done. And G-d blessed the Seventh Day and made it holy, for on it He rested from all His work which G-d created to function".
The Blessing Over the Wine
Come, my beloved, let us go out to the field, let us lodge in the villages.
Let us arise early to the vineyards; let us see whether the vine has blossomed, the tiny grapes have developed, the pomegranates have lost their flowers; there I will give you my love.
I am my beloved's, and my beloved is mine, who grazes among the roses.
He brought me to the banquet hall, and his attraction to me [was symbolic of his] love.
His left hand was under my head, and his right hand would embrace me.
Blessed are you G-d, our Lord king of the world, who created the fruit of the vine.
My Father/Thelma Alligon Rose, Nimrod Teneh
My father has a ladder
That reaches – almost the heaven
And my father is very starved
He eats a meal more than one time
And my father is better than anyone else
And my father is the best in the world
And only for me – my father is mine
Since he promised me
He's just mine
And my father brought home a gift
an engine on rails of a train
And father brought me a doll
That knows how to sing and to sit
And my father is the smartest of all
And my father is the best in the world
And only for me – my father is mine
Since he promised me
he's just mine
My father has a car
Which is like an airplane in heaven
My father has a watch
that doesn't get ruined in the water
And my father knows a great many things
English, French and arithmetic too
And only for me – my father is mine
Since he promised me
He's just mine
And my father plays with me
A ball game and also with marbles
And my father brought home for me
an album and nice stamps to put in
So why when I sang him a song that he loves
He just fell asleep and his eyelids were shut
So why when I sang him a song that he loves
He slept and his eyelids were shut
Father, why?
Blessing over Challah
The group's Challah shall be passed around. Each participant – cut a piece, as much as you need and wish to have. Each one of you - please open your heart and express what you wish to share with the group.
Blessed are you G-d, our Lord, King of the Universe, who takes out bread from the earth.
My Mother/Arik Einstein and Shalom Chanoch
I have a woman who loves me,
She is only mine
She knows me from the beginning
Mine is hers.
She must be wise-
My mother
And this song I sing to her
Mother, mother
You nursed me,
You spoiled me,
You brought me,
Mother, mother
You spoiled me,
You brought me,
You
How many days I have spent with her-
My mother
How many tears have I dried with her
Mine is hers
How many things I have discovered with her –
My mother
How many hopes I have wished with her
Mother, mother
You were always with me
Even when I was alone.
I will always be with you –
My mother.
I am sometimes in trouble –
My mother
You understand this in between the lines
Mine is yours
Why do you worry and do not sleep –
My mother.
How is it a mother does not rely on her son?
Mother, mother
Shabbat Shalom and Happy Birthday!!!!
