Greeting Shabbat in Winter

Candle Lighting:

"Blessed are you G-d, our Lord, king of the universe, who sanctified us with his commandments and ordered us to light the Shabbat candle."

Who is the man who desires life, who loves days to see good. Guard your tongue from evil and your lips from fraud. Stay away from evil, do good, seek peace and pursue it.

Blessing Over the Wine

"The sixth day. And the heavens and the earth and all their hosts were completed. And G-d finished by the Seventh Day His work which He had done, and He rested on the Seventh Day from all His work which He had done. And G-d blessed the Seventh Day and made it holy, for on it He rested from all His work which G-d created to function".

"Blessed are you G-d, our Lord, king of the universe, who created the fruit of the vine".

Thunder and Lightning – the 16th Lamb

Thunder and lightning on a cold winter night

Do not always sound the same

Lightning and thunder, thunder and lightning

Sometimes close, sometimes far

Thunder and lightning on rainy nights

The lightning is seen but the thunder – only heard

Some thunders are very frightening

And some – quite less

There is a soft thunder and medium sounding one

And extremely powerful thunder not pleasant to hear – especially if you're alone

(seldom do you meet up with a pleasant thunder)

Thunder and lightning...

The Group Blessing

We cordially invite "Dardasaba and friends" to greet the camp in honor of Shabbat.

Rain

In the streets the neon lights have long been shut.

You look tired, let us go to bed

The light is on in the next room

But someone is crying and it's not me.

I'd like to guard you and me

We had too hard a day today

Blessed rains are falling now

And you cry, you just cry.

Tell me what bothers you

What's hidden inside and slumbers

I'll dry your tears

Just don't weep forever

There's no room for worry, stay calm

I'm with you, you're not alone now

Now everything flows peacefully

And you cry, you just cry.

Tell me what bothers you...

Blessing Over the Challah

Shabbat on winter nights are quite different

It brings light rainy winds,

that slowly turn into tiny magical diamonds.

And as they approach us –

we feel their beauty as they melt in the open air.

And that is the greatness of a winter Shabbat.

"Blessed are you G-d, our Lord, king of the universe, who takes out bread from the earth"
