B. Peace between Man and his Fellow Man

R. Nachman of Breslov, Likutei Moharan, Part 1:

The crux of peace is to connect two opposites and do not frighten your mind if you see one person who is completely opposite to your mind and you imagine that it is absolutely impossible to maintain peace with him ... On the contrary, this is the crux of peace, to try to make peace between two opposites.

Avot of Rabbi Nathan, 12:

If a person sits in places and is silent how does he pursue peace? Rather, he should go out of his place and pursue peace among Israel.

Letters of Rabbi Abraham Isaac HaCohen Kook, 2, 142, 271:

With great pity, we must look at the boys confused with ideas and acts of our generation and to support them as much as we can, to bring them closer to the Torah and to Judaism in pleasant ways in the world. And my opinion is that a single bit of goodness that we achieve with them should be precious to us, even if we do not achieve much ... In my opinion, there is a holy spark in every soul of an Israelite, and when you approach them with love – you awaken the good spark which becomes a holy flame ... And by means of pleasant ways and paths of honor and peace we can repair and save much more than by hatred and resentment.

C. Peace in the Land of Israel and in the World

"And I made peace in the land - that there be peace among you, and that you do not fight not against each other." (Ramban)

"If you follow my laws and keep my commandments and you observe them and do them ... and you shall dwell in your country safely." (Leviticus, 26: 3-5)

"Prevention of the recognition of the sanctity of peace on Israel, which is only complete in the land of peace, has alienated many from the practical duty of building the land of Israel." (Rabbi Avraham Issac HaCohen Kook, Introduction to 'Citrus Tree')

"When you approach a city to battle it, and you shall call out to it in peace ..." (Deuteronomy 20:10)

"Rabbi Shimon son of Gamliel says: The world stands on three things: on the law, on truth and on peace, as it says: Truth and the judgements of peace - judge your gates." (Mishnah, Tractate Avot, Chapter 1)
