Mourning
During the Night

Avraham Halfi

During the night the birds fell from the nest
And trees trembled during the night

And the big life became small

And it cried to live

If there was nothing else in the skies

Perhaps there had never been anything in the skies

And just someone

Like a bird falling from the nest

Just to find something in the skies

And the weeping was good because there is still weeping

The tears are good – because they are tears

At night

Always at night

The storm rages steadfastly

And strikes the heart of the branches

And the branches remember that their heart is hurting

And someone like a bird that has fallen from the nest

And like a broken branch

Who doesn’t know who he is, who he is, who he is

He also falls
